C-hooks from OX Worldwide are produced to order according to customer requirements. They are suitable for use with cranes for lifting steel coils. Below we will give you an insight into the possibilities as well as some key data.
C-Hooks are designed to lift and transport coils in a balanced and controlled manner. So, depending on the customer’s premises, the construction of the hook can vary: from a beam or shaped pipe, from steel plate or electro-welded sheet.

Specifications of C-hooks
Generally:
- Designed for lifting and maneuvering individual coils
- Self-balancing structure by counterweight (SCP)
- Easy to use with a side handle
- Curved areas of the hook and specific coatings to avoid damage when in contact with the spool being transported are possible upon customer request
- Minimal height loss
Material:
The material used for C-hooks depends on the configuration and special requirements of each case, and can be made of S275 steel structural profile or S355 steel hot-rolled pipe. Alternatively, the shape is cut from a high-strength steel sheet by laser or flame cutting. It is also possible to consider specially treated steel bars for very high capacity in the design.
Finish:
- Surface preparation by blasting according to the UNE EN ISO 12944-4 standard, purity level: UNE EN ISO 8501 (SA 2 1/2).
- One coat of zinc epoxy phosphate primer 60 microns thick and two coats (thickness of 60 microns) polyurethane enamel C2 quality according to ISO12944, painted in yellow RAL 1028 color.
- Other colors with corresponding minimum quantities at no additional cost, but must be specified in advance.
- Other versions upon express request at an additional cost.
- According to ISO 2409, ISO 2808.
