Polyester lifting straps & round slings

In the following we will take a closer look at polyester round slings and lifting straps.

Here we differentiate between polyester lifting straps according to EN1492-1 and round slings according to EN1492-2, which are further divided into the individual products:

Polyester lifting straps according to EN1492-1

The polyester lifting straps compliant with EN1492-1 are divided into:

  1. Lifting straps
    – 2-ply with loop on both sides
    – Capacity of 1 t to 10 t
  2. Heavy-duty lifting straps
    – 4-ply with loop on both sides
    – Capacity of 2 t to 25 t
  3. Endless lifting straps
    – 1-ply and 2-ply
    – Capacity of up to 6 t
  4. Lifting straps with brackets
    – Load capacity of 1 t to 10 t

According to the standard, all lifting straps are color-coded.

Polyester round slings

The polyester round slings are divided into:

  1. Single sleeve round slings according to EN 1492-2
    – Capacity of 1 t to 10 t
  2. Premium sleeve round slings according to EN 1492-2
    – Capacity of 1 t to 10 t
  3. Double sleeve polyester round slings according to EN 1492-2
    – Capacity of 1 t to 10 t
  4. Heavy-duty polyester round slings according to EN 1492-2
    – Capacity of 2 t to 100 t
  5. Heavy-duty round slings with HMPE core and polyester sleeve
    – according to EG Machinery Directive (2006/42/EG)
    – load capacity of 10 to 500 t at safety factor 7:1

  6. Heavy-duty round slings with HMPE core and 1,3 mm HMPE light duty sleeve
    – according to EG Machinery Directive (2006/42/EG)

  7. Heavy-duty round slings with HMPE core and 2.4mm HMPE heavy-duty sleeve

According to the standard, all round slings with the exception of the HMPE heavy-duty round slings are color-coded.

Instructions for the safe use of lifting straps and round slings made of polyester:

  1. -40° C to 100° C (the temperature range can be negatively influenced by various chemicals)
  2. Avoid exposure to ultraviolet light as much as possible
  3. Avoid any contact with alkaline objects
  4. Ice formation in the tissue can damage the material
  5. The belt fabric may only be dried within the specified temperature range
